Easy Credit Cards
I read this article in the Edmonton Journal a few weeks ago and I just shook my head. Is this for real?
Obviously the granting of credit by this institution is way too lax. It appears they don’t ask for any documentation. Joe sales guy at the mall can prey on these kids to get his commission? Yes, we should be asking them to take some of the responsibility but can we? These kids have no money, no job and are instantly handed a $5000 windfall. Can you blame them?
It is too long ago for me to remember even getting my own credit card, but how easy was it for you?
I’ve been involved in taxes for longer then I care to acknowledge, both on the private side (all my employed lifetime!!) and from a legal standpoint since passing the bar and pursuing tax law. I’ve put up a lot of advice and rectified a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you’ve posted makes complete sense. Please carry on the good work – the more people know the better they’ll be equipped to deal with the tax man, and that’s what it’s all about.
